Area information

The hotel is situated in the heart of Madrid, in the city’s political, commercial, historic and cultural centre. All of this magnificent city’s many attractions are nearby.

Puerta del Sol (1.8 km) – One of the busiest and most well known places in Madrid. The square contains the famous clock whose bells mark the traditional eating of the Twelve Grapes and the beginning of a new year.

El Palacio Real (1.5 km) – This Spanish royal palace began as a hunting pavilion and became an alternative residence of the kings of Spain until the death of Alfonso XII, who died in the palace. Francisco Franco lived in the palace after the Spanish Civil War. Since Franco's death, the palace has been used as a residence for visiting heads of state.

Museo del Prado (2.5 km) – This famous museum and art gallery houses one of the world's finest collections of European art, with works from the 14th century through to the early 19th century.

Room was clean and very confortable with a separate area with a desk

Services were way to expensive. Breakfast buffet was available for about 19 euros, internet was nearly 15 euros a day or 9 euros per hour and similar situation with items in the minibar (small bottle of water was about 3-4 euros while you can get a 1.5 liter bottle at the nearby "El Corte Ingles" for 0.28 euros (28 cents!). In addition, the convertion rate dollar-euro the hotel offered was way off

It had a great fitness, was close to the centre.

There was no internet in the room; even when we paid for wireless internet connection (which was rather expensive), we had to go to lobby to be able to use it.

Location

Everything else: small room, no internet (9Euro/hour at a 4 star hotel?!?), small bath, the doorknobs got jammed, waited 30 min until someone came and we could use the bathroom, the pool was filthy... All-in- all, this was no 4 star hotel. 2 stars tops, and one's for the location and the fact that the bathroom is in the room. You can do better!

The very friendly receptionist, closeness to the metro.

The pool area is very dark and not inviting.

the staff was willing to assist when asked for informarion. the location was very desireable.

the noise level in he middle of the night was very high. i believe it came from the trash dumpsters being emptied and repositioned.
